A  Birth Responder is a Birth Professional trained in Emergency Medical Response with the knowledge , skill and ability to assist in the natural birthing process, emergent and transportive care.   Birth Responders is a hybrid medical provider that combines the community birth worker/midwife/doula with the emergency medical technician for the pre hospital experience.

 Birth Responders' goal is to improve maternal and birth outcomes by attracting and training more Certified Birth Workers, adding more information and skills approved by the States  and their Department of Health. By increasing families access to social, emotional, and educational support from professionally and community trained Birth Responders.
